The front that will arrive shortly after daybreak will bring us some much drier air for Sat. & Sunday. The showers along the front tonight will fizzle (according to tonight's VIPIR run) and I see no significant rainfall for the next 7 days. North winds on Saturday should help keep any oil offshore, but those winds will veer around to the east by late Sunday and back to the South by Monday. Next week looks like a persistent southerly flow all week and that is not good news regarding the oil slick.
Speaking of the oil slick...check out Dr. Master's story on WeatherUnderground that deals with oil & hurricanes. Very interesting ideas as we approach the start of a new season. Get out and enjoy your weekend before the real heat and humidity of summer arrives.

Bob,
Dr. Master's story was very interesting, never thought about how oil could affect a hurricane/T.S
They should try and simulate a hurricane & tropical storm and add some oil to it and see what would happen to the hurricane/T.S.
