After listening to the "blame game" being played out on every newscast, I'm surprised nobody has blamed our last President. Cheney, Halliburton, BP, Transoceans, Mineral Management Service...why not add George Bush? All right already, it's time to quit the blaming and move on to Solving the problems. Billy Nungesser had it right on FOX 8 this morning..." there is no passion, no sense of urgency, no one person in charge". We've known it's been coming for weeks, yet our suggestions for mitigation went unanswered from the Corps of Engineers to the Coast Guard. Dredging sand islands to act as barriers ..."might harm the environment!" Geez, has any of the 'decision makers" seen all of the oil over our marshes? Have they seen all the soon to be dead birds and wildlife? Harm already is done and is being done. What more harm could we do? As our President has said many times before on trying to pass legislation..."Doing nothing is not acceptable." Not being a lawyer or a judge, but can't our top Executive of our land issue an "EXECUTIVE ORDER" implementing the plan our local officials say will work? Let's give it a try Mr. President. Doing nothing is NOT ACCEPTABLE"!
As a registered Independent, I can't help but compare the media respond to President Bush after Katrina vs now with President Obama. They both were slow to realize the complexity of the issue and place ONE person in charge. One was grilled while...the silence is deafening. Ask our Parish Presidents what they think of our government's response.

It was truly amazing to see the press conference today. How many times did Ken Salazar, the Sect. of the Interior, and Sen. Dick Durbin point the finger at BP and say "it's THEIR fault." It may be true that it is their fault but regardless, instead of pointing fingers and blaming, maybe they should make an attempt at doing something constructive. Is this an attempt by the current administration to make absolutely sure they don't receive the blame? I think people realize that it is BP's fault, however, something needs to be done. And the people should not be happy with the administration wiping their hands of this.
Might be tired of the blame game but I feel like Louisiana should share in the blame for allowing off shore drilling so close to the state in the first and the state not having anykind of plan ourselves to deal with the potential release of oil into the Gulf which everyone knew was a very strong possibility at some point in the future.
My solution: Make a giant pointed 50 ton or more concrete "cork" and plunge it right into the well opening.
Hi Bob I know it's kind of early but I have a wedding on Saturday in New Orleans East and I was wondering what will the weather be like in the evening?(7:00)
Shhhh Bob, don't give them any ideas wirh Bush!!
Yes the media has given this man, Obama, a pass since before he got elected. Had they did an ounce of investigating and who this man associated with, he just may not be the POTUS.
Truth is Obama is no leader, does not speak well of our country, has no experience in running a business moreover a country and it shows...He is running our economy in the ground, unemployment is 15 to 20% in some States...he is dividing our country pitting people against each other, passed a health bill that 75% of the people didn't want...he is letting our borders down to let illegal immigrants in, ruining our relations with other foreign countries...
These people of this country who voted for him wanted "CHANGE" well they got what they voted for...Liberalism and Socialism...not things this country was founded on....what ever happened to... for the people, of the people, by the people...Sure didn't see that simple phrase in the Healthcare debate.
And you think things are going to get better here on an administraton who wants redistribution of wealth. That is going to backfire on Obama. Bush's tax cuts passed in 2001 will expire at the end of this year. If this do nothing President does nothing to change it, (why would he) tax rates go back to where they where they were when Bill Clinton was President...So that 10% tax bracket that Bush signed into law we be gone, Thus a tax increase on the lowest income bracket...So the middle class will get hit with a tax increase when the economy can least afford an increase in taxes...Not to mention everybody across the board will have a tax increase...
And I haven't even touched the Oil Spill now have I. But if you read what I have said its no wonder nothings been done..I think you can point to his leadership skills. Then follow the money on contribution for BP to Obama Admin..and see why they are given a pass.
Its no wonder the State and Local Parishes are taking things in their own hands.
