For the next 4-6 weeks, we have anniversaries of many past hurricanes. Today is 41 years since Camille rearranged southern Plaquemines and the Mississippi Gulf Coast. Fortunately the tropics remain quiet WORLDWIDE, although Dr. Masters is again warning that major storms are coming. We're still 3 + weeks from the peak (Sept. 10) of hurricane season so, historically things should start getting active.
The remains of TD 5 drenched Baton Rouge this afternoon with almost 5" in less than 2 hours. We are still under a Flood Watch as the circulation from TD 5 is still apparent NW of BTR. We could see several lines of Storms develop later tonight and early on Wednesday. IF you get caught under one of those lines(training), several inches of rain could fall in a short period of time causing some street flooding. Might allow some extra drive time?

Bob, what's the likelihood of us seeing less than 5 hurricanes this season?
"Dr. Masters is again warning that major storms are coming."
Was he the same person who said "The British are coming, The British are coming."
Come on, any layperson could say with the hurricane season coming to it peak period that major storms are coming... Dr. Masters be brave and tell us where, when and how intense its going to be.
I see surfave temp all round the Gulf and Atlantic are in the 90's and you would think there would be tons of storm like in 2005, but truth is weathermen make forecasts and they are not always going to be correct no matter what there instincts and knowledge tell them...
Good to see it so quiet globally....is a Sept cool front unheard of...I think not...
