Fall Severe Weather Season...

Most people think of Springtime when thinking of severe weather and they would be correct as that is the main severe weather season. However, in the deep South there is a secondary, smaller season in November as strong cold fronts clash with warm air trying to come northward out of the Gulf. Our tornadoes are not like those big, long track storms up north, but they can still cause damage and be deadly. Tonight's cold front will not produce any severe storms, but next week may bring the opportunity for severe weather on Thanksgiving Day. We'll be back in the warm, muggy air by Saturday and all next week deep tropical moisture will surge out of the Gulf. A strong cold front will approach next Thursday so we'll need to pay attention for some severe storms.

In the short term, a weak front will sweep thru before daybreak with a few showers. Skies will become sunny again on Thursday with brisk north winds in the morning diminishing by afternoon. Winds turn easterly on Friday and SE by Saturday so the warm up will be in full force for this weekend.

I was hoping for cold weather Saturday as I put my Christmas light up this Saturday....Just makes it feel like the season...I know I get complaints that how could I possibly put my lights up before Thanksgiving...

I tell them I like to get the most out of my lights and how come it is okay for department stores to put Christmas out before Halloween?? Often merchandise sits there till now before people start to buy things...

Trust me I am thankful for a lot of things this coming Thanksgiving...including the fact that I dont have to cook a turkey...

Come on cold weather....get down here.

Go Saint on Turkey Day?!!!
