If you are dressed for it, this promises to be a wonderful Fall weekend for outdoor activities. Morning lows will be around freezing on the Northshore, but should stay in the 40s south of lake Pontchartain. All day sunshine should rule into Monday with a gradual warming trend. Highs will be low to mid 60s on Saturday, mid-upper 60s on Sunday and 70 + by Monday. We'll stay warm thru most of next week. Another cold blast could return by the following weekend.
Hurricane Tomas has moved north of Haiti tonight. He'll continue to pull into the Atlantic during the day on Saturday and is likely to weaken as upper wind shear increases. This current cool spell should further lower our Gulf water temperatures and, coupled with strong westerly wind shear, should clearly demonstrate why our hurricane season is long over.
