It's About Time For JazzFest...

Hard to believe, but if it doesn't rain this weekend, this will be the 1st JazzFest in 9 years that didn't have rain on either weekend. South winds are bringing the muggies back and it will feel more Summer-like, but we are not expecting any significant rainfall until sometime late next week. We currently are at day 32 without rain at FOX 8.

Long range computer models are indicating a deep east coast trough developing during the next 10-14 days that would mean more cold fronts for us. According to Joe Bastardi, a private hurricane forecaster, the east coast trough could spin up an early season tropical system down in the Caribbean the last week in May or the 1st week in June. Yikes! Too soon to start thinking about that Joe. Let's just enjoy this weekend outside before the real heat arrives next week.

Wouldn't mind getting some tropical moisture in here or a weak tropical system to bring us some well needed rain.

Tropical moisture would be an unprecedented event to occur right now.

So not ready for any hurricane forecasting or tropical systems close to home. Although, we sure could use the rain....Anyone out there know a rain dance????? Too bad we can't re-route all that spillway water to Texas wildfires!
