Satellite loops tonight show a well defined swirl over land over the Yucatan. Once it moves back over the Gulf Thursday PM, I expect it to become a depression and eventually Tropical Storm Ingrid. None of the computer models bring it to the northern Gulf. In fact most (including tonight’s VIPIR Run) keep it waddling down off the Mexican coast through Sunday PM. There is no reason to expect Ingrid to move our way since a blocking high should keep us protected. Stay tuned! Oh, Humberto did become a hurricane at 4 AM(so says NHC) & Gustav (2002) remains the latest forming hurricane by 3 hours!
In the short term, we’ll stay windy, warm and mostly dry. A weak cool front will stagger near us by late Friday. Don’t expect any real cool air until next week. Shower chances should increase by Sunday into Monday.

Of course half the US woke up at 4AM and earlier just to see if the record would be in tact...I can here them now...we cant let the record be broken, how can we sell GW if the record is broken. Plus we just have to have a hurricane this season....
I know sarcasm....but really 4AM or 10AM was really going to make a difference way out in the Atlantic...
