As we head towards October, none of the computer models develop anything anywhere ! I know Hurricane Juan (1985) hit us in late October, but he was not a major Hurricane (Cat 3+) and only once (1893) have we seen a major hurricane cross the Louisiana coast after Oct. 1st. No, the “Fat Lady” is not singing but she is walking up to the stage and is climbing the steps. Stay tuned!
What I’m seeing tonight is cold air building over Alaska. Models are developing an east coast trough next week so it appears our 1st real cold front (sweaters needed) will happen around October 2-3rd. We did have a week front bring us some drier air Sunday PM into early Monday, but it didn’t last long. The North Shore had temps in the 60s this AM, but we all we’re around 90 this PM. We more showers likely on Tuesday, hopefully highs will stay in the 80s?
