After a cold Winter, two of the things I look forward to are 1) when will the freezes stop coming and 2) when is our 1st 80 degree day? The 1st is difficult to predict until we get beyond March 15th. However, the second could happen on Thursday (we reached 79 today!) ahead of our next cold front. The front won't arrive until around midnight so we'll be in the warm sector all day. IF we see enough sunny breaks, I think we'll get near the record high (82). Otherwise, the clouds could stop us in the upper 70s again. This front will trigger a round of shower & storms most likely between 9 PM and 1 AM on Friday. The clearing behind the front should happen rather quickly and Friday should be back into sunshine. The cool down will be modest as the real cold air should remain well to our north. Any severe threat also should stay north of Lake P. Saturday looks great before another weak front staggers in Sunday PM with a few showers. That front will stall just to our south making the start of next week cloudy & cooler.
The strong upper disturbance moving out of the Rockies tonight will produce a deep surface low that will take a track far more westward that past storms meaning rain will fall over the deep snow cover up north so local flooding could become a problem. No such worries here. Let the parades roll!
