Waiting on 1st 90...

Looking back on the past 8 years, I find that every year we reached 90 no later than June 4th.  Not this year as I don't think we'll top 90 until Friday at the soonest.   I'm not complaining as I vividly remember June of 2011 when nearly everyday topped 90 with many 95+ and one reaching 100!   Summer is supposed to be hot & each day we don't top 90 is one less day until the next cold front arrives in September.

NHC upped the probability (20%) for development on a broad area of low pressure in the extreme southern Gulf.   All computer models do not develop this system probably because the wind shear is way too strong above it not allowing storms to organize.   let's hope that trend of strong shear continues for most of this hurricane season.
