Not a Typical Summer pattern

In a typical summer, we see the Bermuda High/Atlantic ridge build westward across the Southeast with our surface and upper flow coming from the SE rotating around the high to the NW.  Not in the Summer of 2014.   We have seen east coast trough after trough develop supressing the Bermuda High well south of its normal position.   This means our flow has been more from the West-SW the past few weeks with 2 rare  July cool fronts so far.   Another strong upper system will pass just to our north Friday into early Saturday with yet another frontal boundary pushing down near us.   Friday & Saturday look stormy at times with fewer showers likely on Sunday.   A Flash Flood Watch has been issued from Morgan City westward as there is the potential for greater than 4-6"+ of rainfall during the next 24-36 hours.   We need to pay attention here in case the 'training effect" sets up late Friday into Saturday creating flooding conditions locally.  Still no Tropical activity is in sight for 7-10 days.
