Early Post...Saints on FOX 8...

Got in 9 holes of golf before the skies opened up around 11 AM.   Chateau didn’t get as much as my house in Metairie (2.61”), but it was enough to make the course unplayable.  The early storms & clouds brought an end to today’s heating and this afternoon was comfortable temperature-wise, but the humidity was awful.   Really don’t see a change to this pattern until mid-next week when an east coast trough sets up driving a late August cold front down towards us.   It’s August so don’t expect much cooler air, but drier air would mean cooler morning lows, especially on the North Shore.  Any front that reaches the Gulf in August bears watching, but none of the models indicate tropical development for the next 10-14 days.

This is the 49th anniversary of Hurricane Camille back in 1969, but there are no signs of anything happening in the near term.   Ernesto is heading toward Ireland (give me a break!) and the tropical wave approaching Barbados is showing no organization tonight so NHC has downgraded chances for development to near zero.  Another wave has crossed the Yucatan and is pushing into the SW Gulf while another is our over the central Atlantic.  There is a spin/swirl east of Bermuda, but it has no showers/storms around it.   We can relax, turn on FOX 8 and enjoy the game knowing it is preseason and only counts with those guys trying to make the team.  Who Dat!  Stay tuned!
