Before you Monday morning quarterbacks start knocking the local weather folks for over-hyping yet another severe weather event, please know we really came close to some nasty stuff. Sure, my backyard rain gage only had .28", but we easily did have some wind gusts to 40-50 mph. David also showed the rainfall graphic that had 3-5" not very far to our west. It easily could have been over us, so no, I am not one of those who say the media over-hyped this event. However, as a previous blog stated, you have to be very careful when crying wolf. To say "rather safe than sorry" sounds good. But be wrong too many times and the public will start to ignore future warnings. As we get into May, our severe weather threat becomes more of a heavy rainfall problem versus a tornado threat.
This Easter weekend will be spectacular as the good feel air is coming back. Look for cool nights and mild to warm days with plenty of sunshine on Saturday & Sunday. Friday will see a few lingering showers mainly to our north & east and it will be breezy and cooler. After that...almost perfect! Stay tuned!
