Our good feeling air is still here and I hope you're taking advantage of it by being outside. Watching Bruce & David show next week's upper ridge developing over the eastern states reminded me of what happened just last May. If you recall, we had a terrific Spring that quickly ended with a mid-May heat wave. We set a new record high (96) followed by a 97 with an 8 day stretch of 90+ heat. We all know it's coming and it appears our 1st 90+ will happen next week. Tomorrow will once again have the North Shore in the 50s with some 60s south away from Lake P. Highs will warm into the mid 80s, but without the high humidity, it will still feel pretty nice. A gradual return of moisture will make it more uncomfortable by Friday and really summer-like for the weekend. Next week, the heat is on.
Noticed the GFS model is hinting at some tropical weather over the western Caribbean in the 10-14 day time frame. Yep, we are nearing the time of the year when we have to concern ourselves with something forming down south. Personally, I don't get excited/nervous about long range models until I see something develop on satellite pictures and there is nothing there yet. Get out and enjoy the "chill" and as David said, we won't see it like this until October. Stay tuned!
