Over the years one thing I learned is that upper level wind shear is far more important than any other factors in tropical development. NHC began talking about a cluster of storms over the Bahamas saying development was not likely (10%). Looking at the satellite features tonight and what one sees is fast moving westerly winds over all of the Gulf and Florida. The system looks way less organized than yesterday, but it is a reminder that we are heading towards the 2019 hurricane season. It's just around the corner so our focus shifts away from cold fronts coming from the north to tropical development coming from the south. We do have a weak frontal boundary that will try to stagger through us over the weekend. Saturday has the highest rain chances, but this will not be a "clean" front. Some showers could linger into Sunday as I don't see the good feel air charging on back. Hopefully, there will be enough dry hours to not interrupt this final weekend of Jazz Fest.
I will be away from my computer for several days so my next post won't be until next week. Enjoy your weekend. Stay tuned!
