Chantal Still Might Be Coming...

NHC at 8 AM increased their probability for development of 94 L to 30%.  However, if you read their discussion you would see they are not bullish that this system will get a name as wind shear ( remember Barry) becomes the main problem,. However, the daylight satellite loop has a cluster of storms developing over the Gulf stream east of Miami.   Clouds are covering up any low level circulation, but knowing how quickly NHC names things now days, we could see this system upgraded to a Trop. Depression this afternoon and Chantal Tuesday or Wednesday.  With a big east coast trough driving a cold front into the Gulf South, whatever might form cannot come our way and will quickly turn to the NE and move away from the U.S. East Coast.  We'll see what NHC does on their 2 PM Tropical Outlook.

"A cold front is coming"...yep that coming from the local NWS discussion this morning.   This front will trigger lots of showers and storms ahead of it as it approaches us for tonight & Tuesday.  Our atmosphere is primed for more heavy (3-5"+) downpours as storm movement remains slow.     The front should clear us late Tuesday with much drier air arriving for Wednesday & Thursday.   That would bring terrific weather for the Start of the Grand Isle Fishing rodeo on Thursday with a basic summertime pattern of spotty storms for Friday & Saturday.  Our 2019 President is Jim Henderson and he invites you to come down and meet him under the Air Conditioned Pavilion at the east end of the island.  We'll have Signature Rodeo merchandise for sale and Jim will be available for autographs and/or selfies.  Go to www.tarponrodeo.org for more info.  Stay tuned!
