Finally Some Needed Rains...

For the first time in over 3 weeks my yard is getting a soaking.  No it's not a gully washer, but any water is welcomed by my plants and lawn.
It is finally getting cold up in Alaska & northern Canada with teens & 20s showing up.  However, models do not show any eastern trough developing during the next 2 weeks that could bring some of that chill down into the Deep South.  I'm afraid we may have to wait until the second week of October before we get real relief.  In the short term, we have no problems in the Gulf with tropical activity.
Clusters of storms dot the Atlantic, but only one has a name.  Jerry has weakened to a Tropical Storm and is still predicted to turn away from the U.S. threatening Bermuda in several days.

The next named storm may come from the cluster of clouds east of Barbados.  Right now, nothing indicates we have any need to worry through the next 5-7 days. Stay tuned!
