Focus Shifts to Western Gulf...

In previous blogs, I mention how upper tropical lows sometimes work there way down to the surface.  NHC this morning began to highlight the western Gulf as a possible area for development during the next 3-5 days.  We still have a well defined upper low slowly drifting across the central Gulf with an eastern tail of storms that NHC thinks could develop down the road.  We currently have a blocking surface north of us that should keep most of the weather south of our coast.  It's something to watch, but not worry about.

The visible loop of Humberto has an "exposed" surface center (no storms around it) with all the heavy T-Storms well off to the north and east.  Until the upper shear weakens, Humberto will struggle.  NHC keeps turning his track farther & farther away from the U.S.  There are signs that several REAL cold fronts will finally arrive during the last week of September.  So we have another 7-10 days to bake before relief arrives.  Stay tuned!
