Has To Get Cold Up North First...

OK, before I begin, couldn't help myself sharing photo of my first grandchild, Ethan (5 months).  I know Michigan sucked against Army yesterday, but it's never too soon to get the kids into school spirit.

With another day of record heat, we all want to know when is the cooler air coming?  Most of Alaska & Canada have cooled into the 50s & 60s, but long range models show no hints of an east coast trough developing that could bring the cool relief into the Deep South.   I suspect we'll have to wait until the last week of September to see a real cool front so endure the heat and focus on football as the Saints begin the journey tomorrow night.

Satellite pictures have several swirls in the Tropics NHC is following, but nothing will threaten the U.S for at least a week.   The flare-up of clouds in the Gulf is triggered by an upper low over the western Gulf.   It would be nice if some of that moisture could drift our way giving us more clouds & showers & some brief cooling relief.  That could happen later this afternoon & on Monday.  Otherwise, the heat beat continues.  Stay tuned!
