No Humberto Yet...

Satellite loops are indicating a slowly organizing system east of the Bahama Islands with most of the T-Storms sheared off to the right/east of the low level circulation.  NHC still believes this disturbance will become our next named storm (Humberto), but they have shifted their center line track farther to the east keeping any major impacts east of Florida.  That center line track yesterday was over Melbourne, while today it's 50 miles east of the coast.    The cone of error, which was near Tampa yesterday, is now east of Orlando so those planning Disney trips this weekend should be OK.  Obviously, pay attention to the latest forecast in case anything changes.

Finally, the upper low over the Gulf is drifting westward and clusters of storms have formed on the northern and eastern sides.  It's rare that these upper features work their way down to the surface, but it is moving over very warm waters and, if I lived in Texas, I'd pay attention as these squalls could be impacting the Texas coast late this weekend.  For us, still too hot & dry.  Stay tuned!
