First Front Not a Dandy...

OK, so it was less hot today. but it still was above normal.   Another front will arrive over the weekend with yet another later next week.  Since none of the computer models indicate any tropical development in the Gulf during the next 7-10 days, it is time for "The Fat Lady" to get on stage and belt our the old Don Meredith favorite "Turn out the lights, the party is over".  Dandy Don tried to sing that song when one of the Monday Night Football games got to be a rout and it was obvious who would win the game.  I've used that expression once it became obvious that major tropical threats (Cat. 3+) are over for SE LA/MS.     NHC currently has al tropical threats well east of the U.S., although there will be real impacts along the coasts from North Carolina to Cape Cod during the next 3-5 days.

Locally, drier air has pushed off our coast with slightly cooler temps.

You'll notice a different feel to the air in the mornings, but the heat will return for Thursday and Friday.   The change in seasons will really show up tomorrow as blizzard warnings are up across the northern plains.   I've mentioned before, when the weather is way too warm for several weeks, Mother Nature balances things up by going much colder.  I suspect that will happen to the 2nd half of October.   I'm getting my sweaters and jackets ready!  Stay tuned!
