Good Feeling Air is Back, But Not For Long...

Yesterday ahead of the cold front, we had dew points in the 70s making us feel like we were back I summer.  Today's dewpoints are down in the 50s as a much drier air mass has pushed down into the Gulf.  At this time of the year, fronts tend to stall over the southern Gulf and often low pressure forms.  The visible satellite loop hints at a weak circulation down along the Mexican coast near Tampico, but NHC is not mentioning any concern yet.  (probably because models don't show any development.).

Our good feeling air will hang around into Thursday morning before the muggies return later Thursday PM.  Friday looks ugly with rain likely and temps staying in the 60s.  The difficult forecast challenge is this weekend as the GFS brings another front through clearing skies and bringing cooler temps. while the Euro stalls the front keeping us cool & wet.   Since my friend Doc Muller has invited me to the LSU/Auburn game Saturday afternoon, the solution the Euro presents is not what I want.   Plenty of time to watch which model does better, but right now I'm rooting for the GFS!  Stay tuned!
