There was a TV comedy back in the 60s or 70s called GET SMART starring Don Adams. His favorite line was..."missed it by that much" as he held his thumb & finger about a half inch apart. Well, we just missed being the wettest October by "that much"...officially .74" as we finished with 12.46" vs the old record of 13.20". The front has pushed well off the Louisiana coast and into the Gulf.
Much cooler and drier air has chased away all the low level moisture and, if you are dressed for it, the cooler air really feels pretty nice. A secondary surge of cool air will arrive during the day on Saturday making for a crispy, cool weekend. No rain is expected before next Tuesday at the soonest. You can see yesterday's snowstorm on satellite pictures as all of the white over Colorado is snow on the ground. Record cold over night lows were recorded at many locations. We'll see lows dip into the 30s on the North Shore with 40s south.
NHC wasted another name (Rebekah) way out in the Atlantic on a system that will affect no one. I will be away from my computer for the next several days as the weather looks very quiet. See you next week. Stay tuned!
