We're Close, But No Cigar Yet...

As we approach the noon hour, overnight and morning rainfall have firmly vaulted us into the number 2 wettest Octobers at 11.44".    That leaves us only 1.76" short of tying the all time record of 13.20".   Radars show some heavy showers are mainly south of the airport so we may have to wait until the front gets closer to see if more heavy rain develops tonight.

One thing about Fall & Winter is that cloud cover become way more extensive with storms and cold air.   We'll see a couple peeks of sunshine today, but Thursday will stay cloudy with sunshine returning for Friday & the weekend.

Computer guidance has most of Thursday & Friday staying in the 50s with brisk north winds.  Night time lows could approach freezing on the North Shore for Friday & Saturday mornings with some 40s South.   This is an extensive cold air mass that covers much of the West & central Plains.  It will require heavy coats here even for Halloween evening so be ready for the chill.

Even though Hurricane season runs through November 30, All this cold air has effectively shut down the Tropics.  Amen!  Still could be a late season storm down in the Caribbean or southern Gulf, but for the northern Gulf it's over. Stay tuned!
