Gloom Lingers Behind Front...

We have reached the time of the year when the low sun angle minimizes daytime heating.  If we get a cold front with very shallow cold air, clouds often hang behind it.
Sometimes the front will have lots of low clouds lingering well behind the front back into Texas.  That is not the case with this front as skies have cleared there and even into SW LA.

Because of that, Houston has soared back into the 70s with lots of sunshine.  In fact, there is really no cold air over all of the South as the main Arctic air is trapped in Canada.

We will see some of that chill arrive here next week, but model trends have been backing off bringing any freeze threat down to us. In the short term, Sunday through Tuesday will warm back up (70+) with showers returning late Tuesday into Wednesday.   Of course, weather takes a back seat to football here this weekend.  GO TIGERS & SAINTS !   Predictions?   LSU 45 Georgia 31,  Saints 24 San Fran 17.   Who Dat!
