LSU certainty did their part in making it a great weekend of football &, whether you admit it or not, the Saints/49ers game was close to being a great comeback. I had bad vibes early this morning when I opened the op-ed page of the Advocate to see yet another climate crisis story.
In case you haven't done it yet, I suggest you Google the climate story I talked about several blogs ago. The author is a Michael Shellenberger and the article ran on Nov. 25, 2019 in Forbes magazine.
In today's article Eugene Robinson is making us feel guilty for our higher quality of life/standard of living and says a "carbon tax" will slow down global warming. There is zero proof that would be the result while there is ample proof that a few rich folks (carbon traders) would get richer. Instead of proposing solutions that would reduce carbon in the atmosphere, offering incentives (money) to the inventors of any such systems, the AGW crowd just wants to increases taxes on carbon fuels. That hasn't worked with liquor or cigarettes (sin taxes) but hey it's more control over we the people. Read the Forbes article and I think you'll agree that this debate is not black and white but many shades of gray.
The return flow from off the Gulf has been slow to form, but satellite views confirm how the nation's cloud cover is on the increase. We were above normal today and will be again on Monday & Tuesday before the chill returns for Wednesday into next weekend. The brutal Arctic air remains over central Canada and the core of that cold should stay to our north for this week.
We'll have one rain opportunity with the front late Tuesday into Wednesday with a better chance on Friday into Saturday as a stronger upper system heads our way. Enjoy this current spell of mild weather as models hint a cold pattern may develop for later this month. Stay tuned!
