When the Weather Outside is Delightful, Go Inside...

At Christmas time you expect the weather to feel chilly so you can get into the "Christmas spirit".   That's hard to do when the thermometer tops 70+.   So what's one to do?  Go inside one of our downtown big hotels and visit their Christmas displays.

One of my favorites is the light display at the Roosevelt where you can enjoy an afternoon beverage at the Sazerac bar.   The Winsor Court is not far behind with a huge tree and train along with ginger bread house displays.   Don't let our mild weather curb your Christmas Spirit.  Head to the hotels, City Park or Audubon Park and enjoy the lights.

Well yesterday's sunshine didn't last as low clouds returned for much of the Gulf South.   Temperatures remain well above normal and that should mean few travel issues returning home from Grandma's house.

Cold weather covers the western states, but the bitter super cold has retreated back into Alaska.

We'll stay mild/above normal through this weekend with a shot of frigid air arriving Jan. 4-8th.   Sometimes a cold pattern can lock in for weeks, but I don't see that happening during the next 10-14 days.    Some morning fog could cause driving issues for later this week.  Merry Christmas & stay tuned!
