What a beautiful way to end the year with bright sunshine and temps 60-65. Alas, nothing lasts very long at this time of the year as the upper winds roars across the globe during the northern Winter. We will stay clear until later tonight as the low cloud cover hugging the Texas coast is tracking to the NE. In fact, the Gulf will be open for business as a strong disturbance coming in from California ignites the sub-tropical jet steam giving the South the POTENTIAL for heavy rainfall and POSSIBLE strong storms Thursday into Friday.
This system looks very progressive (moving) and should mean sunshine will return for Saturday & Sunday making for great tailgating at the Dome ahead of the Viking's game. Green Bay is cold (20s), but not awful and that should be the case when the Saints head north in 10 days. (yea, yea, I know we have to win the next game first).
The real cold (40-50 below) has retreated back into Siberia with the coldest now over NE Canada.
Let's just enjoy the comfy cool and dry weather we have for tonight and welcome in the new year safely. I realize 2019 for many of you has not been a good year as you have lost loved ones. My wife's sister spent Christmas with us (she lost her Jerry back in July) and it is such a helpless feeling you have knowing you cannot stop the grieving process. For those of you in such pain, know our thoughts and prayers are with you and as my friend George so eloquently said..."grief is love with no place to go." As best you can, Happy New Year friends. Stay tuned!
