Winter's Biggest Complaint? Lack of Sunshine.

As I read many of the comments you post, the one that keeps coming up is the lack of sunshine.  You don't mind some cold, but you do mind the many days of cloudy skies.  Today many of us were lucky to see some sun, especially on the North Shore and along the Mississippi Coast.

But you can see what's coming for Friday as a large cloud shield and some showers will make for another gloomy day.  Saturday through Tuesday will be dry with a warming trend that could have us 70+ on Monday & 75-80 on Tuesday.  Our next real cold front sweeps thru late Tuesday into Wednesday with chilly air returning for late next week.  RIGHT Now, it doesn't look super cold as the frigid air is locked up in northern Canada & Alaska.

When you see temperatures in Montana in the 40s in January, you know no real cold is coming our way.  The chill over Minnesota and Wisconsin is heading to the east so until it gets colder over the northern Rockies, we will not have to worry about any freezes.  The first 3 weeks in January were way above normal with the last week slightly below.   All in all, I'd say it's been boring with no weather extremes here.  February has Mardi Gras so you know this weather can't last...or can it?  Stay tuned!

Finally, my golfing partner & former co-worker Ron Swoboda lost his oldest son (Ron JR.) this week. I know the pain of losing a spouse, but I don't know what it must feel like losing your child. Pray for Ron, his wife Cecilia and their family.
