Weak Upper System Bringing Slight Chance for Showers...

A weak upper disturbance is streaking out of Kansas and Missouri triggering a large area of light to moderate rainfall.  The trail end may just brush us over night into Tuesday, but models are not indicating much for us.

A much stronger system is off of California  and you can see a surge of Pacific moisture heading for the southern part of that state.  Like the system ahead of it, models show the California system staying mainly to our north for late this week.  It might bring a cold front close by late Friday, but no real cold air is expected.   We'll continue well into the 70s & low 80s for the rest of this week.

The ridge over the east has Boston and NYC 70+ while the trough over the west keeps them on the cool side.  The northern Plains are the only area suffering below freezing temperatures.  I'm continuing my clean up of leaves that will take me well into next week.   Squirrels have created a HUGE nest in the top of my grapefruit tree.  Thinking about putting out traps again.  They are fun to watch, but very destructive to my garden.   Appreciate any suggestion other than using a pellet gun!  Stay tuned!
