North Shore Tornado Damage...

Last night I focused on a storm nearing Hattiesburg that was producing a long track (60-70 miles) tornado.  It did a lot of damage, but wasn't as deadly as the previous week's storms.  I mentioned the possibility for the 'tail/western end of the line might develop farther to the south.  That did happen with a much smaller tornado damaging 6-10 homes in Mandeville.  You can see how an uprooted tree can crash onto a home with potential deadly consequences.  Not the longer track on the Mississippi tornado compared to the Mandeville one.

Last week's outbreak had over 100+ tornadoes while yesterday's only had 12.     Today returned sunshine, especially South Shore, and drier air along with slightly cooler temps.  You can see how muddy the Lakes are from the Spillway opening.

Another fast moving system along the West Coast today will arrive here late Wednesday into Thursday bringing another chance for some strong storms.   It's way too early to get hyped up on that severe potential since it's 3 days away.

The nation as a whole is warming up, but more cold air will be flowing down from Canada during the next 10-14 days.   We are not done with having cold fronts as April is turning out to be far more pleasant than March.
The recent rains have my garden going nuts!  Here is Sally my shrimp plant blooming after I had to cut her back to the ground after the early winter cold last December.   I've got 3 more in pots and another in ground.  They bloom all summer and I love 'em.   Stay tuned!
