Could It Be Some Relief For Us?

This is a quick update on our local weather.  After a rainy spell, the last 2 days have been hot & dry.  Just spoke with my youngest son (Justin) in Oklahoma City who was marveling at how pleasant their weather was and is tonight.  Normally they and Dallas flirt with 95-100+, but OKC has had an unusually less hot month with most highs in the 80s.  Much of the country hasn't been that hot this summer with some exceptions.

Tulsa is at 84 but their dew point is 68.  Dallas' DP is 64!!!  That's drier air my friends and I'm thinking we may actually get in on some of that feel.  Some showers are getting close tonight ahead of the front, but they appear to be weakening.

So why might that front push through us in August, a time of the year when most fronts stall out to our north?  Give credit to the circulation around Hurricane Isaias approaching South Florida tonight.  As that storm moves up the east coast this weekend, its rotation could help drag down the drier air from the north.   It won't be cooler except at night, but the feel will be nicer.

Not much new news with the Hurricane.  Isaias' winds are back to 80 mph and he could be near a Cat. 2 by morning.  The stronger he gets, the better chance that his circulation will benefit us.  Still can't figure out what that bright second blob is to the east (right) of Isaias.  If it's competing for the energy in the storm, Isaias may not get stronger.  My thinking is it'll fade/become absorbed by the main circulation allowing Isaias to approach 100 mph.   Get up and watch The Weather Channel in the AM as they'll have live shots all over the FLA. east coast.  Stay tuned!
