From No Name to Hurricane...

When I last posted, I indicated NOLA would not have to worry about Tropical Cyclone 9 as a digging upper trough would protect us and keep the storm far to our east.  So what has changed since my last post?   Number one, the NHC keeps shifting his track farther to the east (away from us).

The top graphic was from last night when the centerline track went right through Florida.  The middle graphic is the latest forecast track with the bottom showing how the centerline has shifted off the east coast of Florida.   Note, part of the state is still within the cone of error, but the worst side of the storm is expected to stay over the Bahamas.  TC 9 was finally upgraded to a named storm (Isaias) and it now is expected to become a Cat. 1 Hurricane on Saturday.

Based on tonight's satellite loop, Isaias is well on his way to become the 2nd Hurricane of the 2020 season.  The core of the system missed the highest mountains of Hispaniola and the center is now over warm waters.   This could easily become a hurricane later tonight or during the day on Friday.
Our weather has finally settled down, but when we don't have daily showers we heat up.  Friday & Saturday will sizzle before some storms return on Sunday.  Oh I did go fishing.  Summer heat really makes being on the water difficult.  We caught a good number of fish, but most were throwbacks.  Only kept 5 trout & 6 sheepsheads.  Can't wait until October!  Stay tuned!.
