Getting Tired Of The Rain...

Our current weather pattern has been locked in placed for what seems like weeks.  A stalled old boundary stretches across the Gulf South from Texas to Georgia and continues to produce above normal clouds and showers with the potential for flooding downpours.  NWS has us under a Flood Watch again today.

Today's rain bands are showing a tendency of lining up east to west and that could create a training effect later this afternoon.   Keep up on the FOX 8 Weather App.

One benefit of the higher rain chances is the lower high temperatures.  Instead of the low to mid 90s, we're in the low to mid 80s.  Most of the eastern half of the nation is suffering with high humidity (dew points above 65+).  Models are indicating a pattern change is coming with an upper ridge building eastward from the Rockies.  This will lower the rain coverage and allow for us to soaring back into the 90s later this week.

The only system NHC is following is a weak circulation now just east of Columbia, SC.  They believe it could develop once it gets out over water east of the Carolinas and heads towards New England this weekend.  For us, the Tropics look quiet for the next 7-10 days.
This is a strong wave moving through the Windward Islands, but it shows no signs of development.  It will bring needed rainfall to Puerto Rico, which currently has parts of the island in severe drought.  Otherwise, get ready for the heat Gang.  Stay tuned!
