NHC has increased the probability for development for the broad area of low pressure near us from 10% up to 40%. There is a small surface circulation SE of the mouth of the river with some storms around it. Another weak surface rotation is near Bogalusa with no storms around it.
So will Edouard come from TD 5? Or from the system in the Gulf? If it's the Gulf system, look for lots of rain along the Florida beaches tonight and tomorrow. We have some big storms around us this afternoon.
These are slow moving tropical downpours with lots of vivid lightning so be careful venturing outside. Not a lot has changed on the weather map as we wait to see if the broad low around us gets better defined tonight and tomorrow down off the coast south of AL/FL.
If that happens, we could actually see some drier air wrap around the western side for Monday and Tuesday. However, with temps in the 90s and dew points in the 70s, expect some storms to fire off during daytime heating. Stay tuned!
