Isaias Downgraded to Tropical Storm...

As I mentioned in my last post, satellite pictures indicated Hurricane Isaias was struggling.  That trend continues as the center has become exposed with no storms west or south of the center.  There has been a burst of storms along the north side and NHC still believes Isaias will gain strength later tonight based on computer models.  My take is the models didn't have Isaias weakening so why buy into it growing stronger again.  Here's what I see.

The SW upper flow/shear has blown all the storms to the north and east side of Isaias.  You can see the burst of storms(red colors) on the north side with nothing around the center.  That is confirmed on the radar view.  So the question is...Why would the shear back off as the storm moves farther to the north? Plus the environment around the storm continues to have lots of dry air around it.

NHC has shifted the center line track closer to the coast, but most of the really bad storms should remain offshore.   South Florida will see very little impacts from Isaias.   North of West Palm Beach the impacts will be greater.  Stay tuned!
