California needs that system to sit over them, but no such luck. It will begin its march to the east tomorrow and send clouds, showers, but mild temps (50s) to Philly as our guys try to make it 10 straight wins. Most of the energy will stay far to our north, but it will signal a warm up from our recent chilly spell.
If you look at the surface weather map, very few places throughout the country are getting rain or snow. Sometimes early December can bring some big snowstorms. Not this year.
The colder air to our northeast is on full retreat and we should see 70+ temps. tomorrow lasting the rest of this week. Another cold front will chill us some for the beginning of next week, but no frigid air is expected for the next 10-14 days. Models are hinting of a major storm developing on Christmas Eve, but right now it appears temps will be too warm for it to be a snowstorm.
Finally, while we have bright sunshine, the cold front has driven all the way through the Yucatan and most of Cuba. I find it interesting how the "cold air clouds" develop over the still warm southern Gulf. The cold front is the solid band of white in the middle picture while the zoomed in bottom view has the bubble up clouds created by the cold air moving over the warm loop current coming out of the Caribbean. Local weathercasters rarely show satellite pictures anymore, and if they do it's the satellite & radar combined. There are so many neat features to pick out daily. That's something I miss. Stay tuned!

We miss all of the neat things you always pointed out during your segment. No one has stepped up to take your place-that's for sure! Wishing you and your family a Blessed Christmas, and many more to come.
