Southern Snow Will Get close...

Watching my friend Bruce Katz show the forecast map for Monday and it indicates there will be a southern snowstorm (2-4") across northern Louisiana, but it won't be cold enough for us to get in on the party.  We could get 1-2" of cold rainfall with maybe some sleet mixed in far North Shore.

Satellite views show how lucky we were to get in on some late sunshine today.  A good part of the nation has cloud cover with a weak storm along the east coast and another forming out over the Rockies.  Saturday should see abundant sunshine before clouds return late Sunday with rain arriving around midnight.

The super cold air has moderated across Canada, but models continue to develop a deep east coast trough for next week.

The middle graphic is today's upper steering with the bottom one being for next Friday.  You can see how much deeper the trough digs over the East.   We'll be near or below freezing on the North Shore tomorrow morning with most of us south staying 35-38.  Next weekend's cold looks to be worse so we'll have to keep an eye on it to decide if we have to protect our plants.  In the short term, let's enjoy Saturday as we may go into the dumper/dumpster for Monday.  Stay tuned!
