With temps in the low to mid 80s & dew points around 70, it felt very Summer-like this afternoon. The problem is a frontal boundary has stalled just to our north with weak upper disturbances triggering rounds of heavy rainfall.
Because the upper winds run parallel to the surface boundary, we'll continue with a heavy rain threat through late Wednesday.
I've circled the cloud clusters that are flowing with those WSW to/ ENE wind flow. It doesn't mean it will rain all the time, but any additional rainfall will quickly cause street flooding since our grounds are totally saturated. IF models are correct, we'll dry out for the end of this week. But expect several more rainy periods late Tuesday and especially on Wednesday.
Fortunately, the crest moving down the lower Mississippi will not threaten an opening of the Spillway this year. Local rivers are going into minor flooding with today's rainfall, but the Mississippi will not be a problem this year.

Thanks for the blog posts, enjoy reading them. That satellite image of the river water plume has been helpful in explaining why the fishing is bad in some areas right now.
