If Weather Can Affect Moods...

We all know gloomy days without sunshine can make many feel sad and that's how I've been feeling for the past two days.   The bad news is clouds and rainy periods will extend into Monday of next week.

I've drawn the upper air pattern (yellow) indicating there is a cutoff low stuck over Mexico and west Texas.  Until that moves, we won't see much improvement through Monday.  Maybe by Tuesday, the low pulls outs allowing some sunshine to return.

These are the GFS model predictions.  The top is from this morning while the middle is valid for Monday AM.  Note the upper low has moved from central Texas into NW Arkansas while the bottom is valid for next Wednesday.  By then the upper low has opened into a trough across Iowa and Missouri which should result in fewer showers here.

The Flood Watch continues through Sunday even though radar is not showing much around us.  Storms are clustered over western LA. and east TX.

You can see the clouds and rain should keep us not so hot until Wednesday with 90+ coming back later next week.

Where it was sunny farther to our north, temps. soared into the 90s.  But as you can see, Texas and much of the Southeast remain in the 70s & 80s.  So I guess I shouldn't complain too much.  I just want some sunshine back!  Stay tuned!
