We have had easily 3-4 other systems that were named in 2021 that would not have been named years ago. Some will say it's better technology, while some might say it is an agenda. Whatever, Teresa is another wasted name.
The rest of the Tropics remain active, but not around us. Sam is projected to become a major (Cat. 4) Hurricane this weekend, but right now models keep it north & east of the islands and turn him away from the U.S. I grabbed these top 2 graphics off of baynews9.com. the NHC official forecast is at the bottom.
Despite those models, the East coast of the U.S. needs to keep paying attention until Sam gets farther to the north in latitude. We have no issues for the next 7-10 days as a much needed dry spell has set in.
There is another cold front that will slide by to our north as our current low dew points slowly start to rise over the weekend. Note Brownsville's dew points has jumped back to 60, a sure sign that low level moisture is heading northward.
We saw some high, thin clouds streak across from the west to the east (yellow arrows) while the lower clouds remain off the coast as NE winds (Blue arrows) keep bringing in drier air. We keep slowly warming up and getting more humid into next week. But until then, get out and enjoy that good feel air this weekend. Stay tuned!

Not only was Theresa a wasted name for being so brief, she wasn’t even a new system. She formed in an area of moisture left behind from Tropical Storm Peter, which fell apart on Wednesday night just north of Puerto Rico.
How long before the fat lady sings?
If they meet the criteria, they should be named.
