Models Right on Rain, Wrong On Location...

Yesterday's computer models suggested widespread showers for today with some spots getting several inches of rain.  Well, if you live on the South Shore, that didn't happen as most of the showers stayed north of Lake P. with the heaviest storms aiming for Hattiesburg.

The brisk SE winds have brought back the Summer feel as dew points are 70+ and. coupled with mid to upper 80s, it feels like mid September once again.   A weak cold front is coming, but the upper energy is staying far to our north.  That should result in this front washing out/dissipating on Thursday & Friday bring no cooling relief.

So for the next 7-10 days, sweaters and jackets won't be needed as our next real cold front won't come until right BEFORE Halloween.  That front might even be stronger than last weekend's front which would make Trick or Treating nice, at least for the parents.

Good news for the Western states.  Your rainy season looks to kick into high gear with several systems bringing much needed moisture.  The problem might be too much rain in areas that have the burn scars for the Summer's fires.

Finally, the Tropics in the Atlantic Basin remain shut down with nothing on computer models hinting that Wanda is coming.  NHC must be bored already as the only area they are following is in the Eastern Pacific.   Satellite views show nothing is there, but models have something trying to form in the next 3-5 days.  It's amazing how quiet it is across all of the Pacific.

Remember, the alarmists want you to believe that hurricanes are becoming stronger and more frequent.  yet, historic data indicate hurricanes were far more numerous & stronger during the 20s, 30s & 40s than they are now.  Granted, we have had a very active past 2-3 years in the Atlantic Basin, but that is not climate, nor is it happening in other Tropical Basins around the globe.   The question/research should be asking is...why not?  Reduce emissions? Absolutely, but don't expect the current warming CYCLE to end because of that.   Just some food for thought.  Stay tuned!
