Weak Front Lacks Upper Support

Yesterday I mentioned a weak front is likely to wash out/dissipate near us on Friday & Saturday bringing little, if any temperature change , but some slightly drier air.  The main jet stream comes into the California coast and rides up and over the northern tier of states.

You can see north of the green dashed line how skies clear and that's where the good feel air is.  However, see the brighter low cloud deck across Iowa/Missouri eastward.  Temperatures are much colder (40s & 50s) up there.

We did see a couple of T-Storms develop this afternoon, but they were east and south of NOLA.

With abundant sunshine, we easily warmed into the mid to upper 80s and little change is expected during the next 7 days.

A stronger cold front will arrive late Wednesday into Thursday making for a delightful Halloween weekend.  The Tropics remain quiet except in the Pacific.

If you're wishing for Wanda, models are hinting that a system will form well off the East coast in the 7-10 day time frame.  With cold fronts coming, we're protected.  Stay tuned!
