That doesn't mean we won't get to Wanda (trust me, NHC will find a way), but anything that forms during the next 2 weeks will face a number of strong cold front coming our way. That will block any system from coming towards the northern Gulf. Shear will be our friend for the rest of this season.
Our next real cold front will arrive late Friday into Saturday bringing cooler and drier air for the weekend. This will not be a drastic front, but rather one that gets us closer to our October averages.
The storms over Texas will weaken as they reach us after dark on Friday. Expect another almost hot Thursday and Friday before Fall is back.
Finally, my home is back to normal. Sure the plants & trees are not as big, but the fence is repaired & the yard restored and the new roof is on (Thank you Eric!) . Still, driving around Metairie & Kenner, I see debris piles waiting to be picked up. That is discouraging since the damage we had was far less that to our south and west. I can only imagine how it looks in those neighborhoods. Hurricane season sucks, so I promise not to complain too often when the Winter cold arrives. Stay tuned!

It is discouraging about the storm debris. I’m so grateful trash has been picked up but the soaking fiberglass insulation and drywall etc isn’t good
