Contrast that to the Great Lakes & Northeast where heavy coats rule the day. Add in a fast moving "clipper" system producing snow and it's a winter-like feel.
As the "Special Man" once said...Let 'em have it! I'm happy living in the deep South where the cold rarely lasts too long and you can fish, golf, play tennis outside during the months of December, January & February.
With the main storm track coming out of Canada moving over the Great lakes and then off the East Coast, the result should be very little change in our weather with a gradual warming trend for the rest of this week. Note the 70s across Texas all the way up to Denver!
The Gulf moisture has been pressed well off our coast with no signs of return flow for the next 2-3 days. By the end of the week, low level moisture should increase resulting in some AM fog & more clouds. A weak front will approach late Sunday bringing us a slight chance for rain. Until then, we're mostly dry with plenty of sunshine.
All you Global Warming Alarmists saying "I told you so". Not so quick. Look at the extreme cold ( 40-45 below zero) up in Alaska & Canada. Once we get a dip in the jet stream into the U.S., that chill will be heading southward. December will begin above normal, but look for weeks 2-3 to turn significantly colder. Snow Geeks, keep the faith! Stay tuned!
