Cold Coming In 2 Surges, Chilly Weekend Ahead...

Our current warm spell is about to end, but it won't come crashing down.  Instead, the first front arrives late Thursday dropping Friday's highs some 5-10 degrees.  A much stronger front plows through early Saturday bringing sharper colder air on brisk north winds.

Most of Canada is now well below freezing, but the real chill is still north of our border.  that will change as the upper trough currently over the Rockies shifts to the East coast.

The top satellite view has the upper low just east of Denver while the bottom graphic is valid for Saturday morning.  Note how the trough shifts to the east.

November can often bring some strong storms, (Remember the Edmund Fitzgerald 1975) and the surface map is trying to get one forming over the northern Plains.   There is a modest flow of moist air ahead of the cold front but most of the heavier rains are well to the north.

It doesn't appear that the southern end of the front will have enough time and moisture to develop just a thin line of showers/T-Storms.  The timing is likely to be after 3 PM Thursday with the rest of the weekend cold and dry.

Saturday's highs are likely to stay below 60, and with lots of wind, you'll need the heavier weather gear.   If you're dressed for it, this will be a beautiful Fall Weekend.  Finally...

NHC just has to name one more storm so they can say we made the alternate list of names...like who cares?  Look where it is & you can see all the cold air clouds around it.  The "Old NHC" would never name a system that far out & that far north & that late in the season.  But in an era of climate activists who want to blame everything on Global Warming,  it's part of the agenda.  If we have more storms, we need more research MONEY to study why that is happening.  Stay tuned!  And "what's/who's in your wallet?" !!!
