Daylight Decreases As Darkness Descends...

I love showing the whole globe (full disk) satellite view as we head towards Winter.  It clearly indicates the northern latitudes are seeing little or no sunlight any longer.  That means it is getting colder and colder up north.

In fact, much of northern Canada is now below zero with many locations 20-25 degrees below.

Right now on the weekend before Thanksgiving, all is quiet, but it won't stay that way.

The main surface feature is a large, cool high pressure centered over Ohio that ridges back into Texas.  The real chill is farther to our north and east, but very dry air (dew points in 20s & 30s) has spread off our coast.

Without clouds and light winds, temperatures will quickly fall after sunset (5:02 PM) with the North Shore dipping into the 30s with some frost possible.  40s are likely away from Lake P. on the South shore.

We'll see a brief warm up before another front plows through early on Monday.  The chill won't last long as we warm up Wednesday & Thursday before an even stronger front arrives next Friday.  As I mentioned yesterday, it's roller coaster time of the year.   Hurricane Season 2021 is long over for us.  In fact, it's been over for most of the World since late October.  Stay tuned!
