And this is the same backyard that 9 weeks ago looked like this after Hurricane Ida.
Mother Nature does have a way to heal with a little help from us. I'm so thankful my tree fell away from my house or I'd still be in repair mode.
Brisk northerly winds along with a lingering cloud cover have kept temps in the 60s. I'm hoping that clearing line moves our way on Friday as a Gulf low streaks to the ENE.
If this was August or September or early October, we'd be worried about a Gulf Low. But water temps are cooler and the westerly wind shear much higher that prevents these systems into developing into hurricanes. However, this low will likely bring wind and rain impacts to Florida and up the East Coast over this weekend.
As the low pulls to the ENE, cooler and drier air will flow in on the backside making for a terrific Fall weekend.
Our next rain threat will not come before the end of next week. David showed a graphic the other night indicating the 1st 2 months of 2021 had rainfall below average/normal with the next 7 above normal. October finally broke the wet pattern ending up below average/normal. I still feel we'll easily end up as the second wettest year since we only need 2.82" over the next 7 weeks. Stay tuned!
