Look at all the 20s & 30s across the northern Plains and Great Lakes signaling an end to their growing season. Since the flow is from the NNW, don't look at Dallas or Houston's temps. Instead focus on the chill over Oklahoma & Arkansas as that's the chill coming our way.
Many spots on the North Shore will be near freezing on Sunday morning so you'll need to protect any tender plants. The cold won't last very long as we're back into the 70s to near 89 next week. Another front will arrive to cool us down again by Friday.
What will make the cold feel worse on Saturday will be the 20-30 mph winds. Currently winds are under 10 mph, but they'll start cranking from the north after midnight. Finally...
All the recent cold fronts have really cooled down the northern Gulf with area lakes down into the 60s. So cold weather means no hurricanes. I think I can endure several months of the cold, as long as it doesn't get to be the brutal, pipe busting chill they get farther to our north. Put a log on the fire and get ready to enjoy your weekend. That could be hard to do with # 41 ruled out for Sunday's game. I'm sticking with Mark Ingram to have a huge game and Saints win 24-21! Who Dat! Stay tuned!
