The Cold Is Coming, But Not For Long...

The first 3 weeks of December have been way above normal/average so it will finally feel nice to have to wear sweaters & jackets again.  The cold front is approaching accompanied by a wide band of showers with some rumbles of thunder.

The reason the chill won't last is what we've talked about for weeks.  The upper trough remains over the West keeping the core of any cold air far to our north & east.  There's plenty of chill up north, but until the upper pattern changes, we won't see any prolonged (weeks) spell of staying cold.

The seven day tells it all. We have this 3 day "blast" of cold air followed by a quick warm up for Christmas.   Those of you who want snow & cold will need to fly north or into the Rockies to find some.  Sorry.

With the upper SW flow behind the cold front, clouds will linger with some coastal showers on Monday as a weak Gulf low moves along the front.  it will be an ugly spell of weather with little sunshine.  Finally...

I've shown you my flowers before.  However, we're now heading into late December and our yards shouldn't look this pretty.   I like the warmth, but I don't like the allergies.  We really need it to cool down for many weeks, otherwise the bug problems will be awful come Spring.  All we want for Christmas is....   Stay tuned!
